We are so excited to have your camper(s) joining us for our Marvelous Mystery Vacation Bible School program! For the next three days (July 1-3), your child(ren) will be immersed in the greatest mystery on earth as they learn about the incredible treasure of the Mass. This will be accomplished through fun-filled games, thematic arts and crafts, a daily faith-based center, and songs of praise and worship.
You will find everything you need to know in order to ensure a successful week by clicking the tabs provided. Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact Audrey Huck at [email protected]
Parents may formally check in their children and collect carline placards, shirts, and name tags on one of the following dates and times:
For both dates, we will have a table set up under the Breezeway in front of the Teen Center. If you cannot make either of these dates for some reason, please contact Audrey Huck at [email protected] so that other arrangements can be made.
Prior to the start of VBS, we must have the following forms on file for each camper. Please bring these forms already filled out to the one of the two availabel check-in days (June 25 or June 27 from 6-8:00 PM). Campers will not be able to attend unless these forms are on file prior to the start of VBS.
Campers wear their Vacation Bible School shirts daily with the shorts/bottoms of their choice. We ask that all children come in close-toed shoes as they will be running during games. For the first day, campers should arrive on campus with their name tag (given out during the parent check-in) clipped to their shirt. This will assist us in directing your child to the correct group. All future days we will keep the name tags and give out during morning check-in.
For the final day of VBS (July 3) all campers must come attired in pants or a long skirt (knee lenght or longer) as we will be attending Mass.
Vacation Bible School Arrival will take place daily via carline (July 1-3) from 8:15-8:30 AM. Please do not arrive earlier than 8:15 as we need time for our volunteers to arrive to ensure adequate supervision of your child(ren). For VBS Arrival, cars enter the Church parking lot and drive in in a straight line past the Church, toward the Parish Office (see diagram below). Cars will stop, and be unloaded by VBS adult volunteers. Our counselors will greet your child(ren) and open their doors for them. Children will enter through the rolling gate located behind the Church and report directly to the Cafeteria where they will be met by their crew leader. Carline will end promptly at 8:30 AM so that our day can remain on schedule. If you arrive late, you will need to park and walk your child(ren) to the school office.
For VBS Dismissal (July 1-2), cars will line up on Division Street heading toward W. Napoleon (see photo below). If you arrive early/are stopped along Division Street, please be sure to keep the all driveways, including the Loreto Horseshoe and the Main Building Horseshoe, CLEAR. There will be no carline dismissal on Friday, July 3 as campers will be checked out from the Cafeteria immediately following our closing Mass.
WALKER DISMISSAL - If your child will be a walker, please contact Audrey Huck at [email protected] prior to the start of VBS. Walkers will be dismissed promptly at 11:55 BEFORE carline begins.
Carline Dismissal begins Monday & Tuesday at 11:55 AM when an adult VBS volunteer guides cars (six at a time) into the horseshoe in front of the school. Students are loaded into cars on the passenger’s side by VBS volunteers.
If your child uses a car seat or booster seat, please pull into the parking lot next to the horse shoe to buckle them in once they are safely in the car. This allows the carline to continue moving efficiently.
NOTE: Parents/Guardians must have the VBS issued carpool placard clearly displayed in the windshield. We recommend using a child size hanger. If a car does not have the required placard, the adult will have to park and provide proof of identity to an adult volunteer before picking up their children.
As in year's past, we will be partnering with the St. Vincent de Paul Society for a Service Project. VBS campers are asked to contribute ANY of the below items throughout the week:
Prizes will be given throughout the week to the Crew which contributes the most items to our Food Drive. Thank you so much for your generosity!
This year to culminate our learning on the Mass, we will close our VBS program with a Mass at 11:30 AM. Children will sing the songs they have learned in the context of the liturgy and we invite all parents tot attend!
NOTE: There will be no carline for dismissal on Wednesday, July 3. Instead, children will be checked out from their Crew Leaders in the Cafeteria immediately following the Mass (approximately 12:15 PM). If you will not be able to attend the Closing Mass, please come into the cafeteria to pick up your child a 12:15 PM.
