The St. Benilde Prayer Blanket and Shawl Ministry is made up of volunteers who use their talents to create lap blankets or shawls for members of our community suffering physically, spiritually, or emotionally. These are sewn, crocheted, knitted, quilted, or even a "no-sew" fleece blanket. Each has been lovingly and prayerfully created by a ministry team member. Completed blankets are then brought to the Parish Office where they are blessed and packaged with an accompanying prayer card. Prayer blankets/shawls are available to parishioners and their loved ones who are ill, in distress, or otherwise in need of prayer. Our hope is that these blankets will allow the recipient to feel the warmth and spiritual support of our faith community during their time of trial.
NOTE: At this time, we are only able to give blankets to people living within our local area.
The Prayer Blanket Ministry is open to anyone interested, young or old, who has the ability to make prayer blankets. We also welcome prayer warriors who are committed to praying for the prayer blanket recipients.
To volunteer or request a prayer blanket, please contact Audrey at [email protected] or join our ministry group in Flocknote.
The prayer blankets are completely free--our gift of love to you. Any donations received will be used solely to purchase materials and supplies.
